Trump Asked If SCOTUS Had Opening During Election Would He Fill — Dems Will Be Angry With This Answer!

On Monday, President Trump had an interview with Hill.TV where he responded to the possibility of filling an open seat on the Supreme Court if that opportunity presented itself. He said that if a Supreme Court vacancy opens up between now and 2020, he will not wait and would nominate someone to fill the vacancy.

This is very important because the Republicans played a game on Barack Obama during the 2016 presidential election, when they made a huge stink about nominating a Supreme Court justice, if that opportunity ever arose, while the election was going on. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and the top Republican leaders were able to push the narrative that the opportunity to pick or choose a nominee should fall on the next president during a lame duck presidency.

Obama and the opposition media fell for it, which gave Pres. Trump and the Republican-led Senate to Supreme Court justices within a year-and-a-half of each other.

Trump Just Made It a Lot Easier for GMOs to Enter the Food Supply

By Derrick Broze

On June 11, President Donald Trump quietly issued an executive order to “streamline” GMO regulations in the United States. The order, titled Modernizing the Regulatory Framework for Agricultural Biotechnology Products, is the latest move by the Trump administration aimed at promoting the use of genetically engineered or modified crops.

In his executive order, Trump called on federal agencies to fix what he called a “regulatory maze” related to the farming and selling of GMO products...

Trump: I Don’t Need Congressional Approval to Attack Iran

In an interview Monday, President Trump told Hill.TV that if he was going to start a war against Iran, he doesn’t need Congressional approval, nor does he even have to inform Congress about the attack.

“I do like keeping them abreast, but I don’t have to do it legally,” Trump insisted. Trump says Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) told him he needed Congressional approval, and “I disagree.”

The US Constitution empowers only Congress to declare war, and the War Powers Act also mandates that Congress offer an authorization for the use of military force. No such authorization exists for Iran, something Congressional officials have repeatedly pointed out.

Russia Warns US Buildup Risks Repeat of Cuban Missile Crisis

The US withdrawal from the Intermediate Nuclear Forces (INF) treaty is raising concerns in Russia that it would lead to the deployment of land-based US missiles along their borders in Eastern Europe. Russian officials warn this could create a crisis comparable to the 1962 Cuban missile crisis.

This is not a totally unfounded concern. The INF treaty’s dissolution, and the expansion of NATO all the way to Russia’s border indeed would create such a possibility. Russian officials have made clear they would respond to try to maintain deterrence, and prevent NATO having an overwhelming nuclear advantage. Though there are no formal plans for such deployments by NATO announced publicly yet, the Eastern European members are overwhelmingly hostile to Russia, and would endorse such deployments.

Oman denies conveying U.S. message to Iran over downed drone

Oman on Monday denied reports that it had conveyed a message from the United States to the Iranian government over the downing last week of an American unmanned drone.

“The Sultanate is watching current regional developments with concern and hopes that the Iranian and American sides show restraint and address unresolved issues through dialogue,” the foreign ministry also said in a post on Twitter.

Two Iranian sources told Reuters on Friday that U.S. President Donald Trump had warned Tehran via Oman of an imminent U.S. attack, which he later called off, after Iran downed the drone. Trump has denied sending such a message.

President Trump: Please Find A Way To Stop World War 3 From Erupting In The Middle East

We now find ourselves on the brink of World War 3, and one wrong move could unleash death and destruction on a scale that most of us don’t even want to think about. We have reached one of the most critical junctures in modern American history, and the key decisions will be made by just one man. When Donald Trump initially ran for president, he promised to stop the endless wars in the Middle East, but now we are potentially facing the biggest one of them all. More than 80 million people live in Iran, they have a highly sophisticated military, and they have been preparing for a military confrontation with the west for a very long time.

Trey Gowdy: Mystery FBI Transcript ‘Actually Changed My Perspective’ Of Russia Probe

Former Republican South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy said Sunday that his “perspective” of the special counsel’s investigation changed after he saw a transcript of an interaction between the FBI and a Trump campaign associate believed to be George Papadopoulos.

“I was supportive of [Robert] Mueller. I was supportive of the idea to initiate, to investigate what Russia did, but when I saw this transcript, it actually changed my perspective,” Gowdy said in an interview on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures.”

Republicans have hinted at the existence of a transcript that contains exculpatory information for Papadopoulos, who the FBI claims was the catalyst for its counterintelligence investigation of the Trump campaign.

Trump Says He’s ‘Not’ Prepared to Lose in 2020

Hillary Clinton was so shocked she lost on election night 2016 that she didn’t even give her concession speech the same night, which was an insult not only to the many campaign workers and volunteers who worked hard for her, but the millions of Americans who voted for the former First Lady.

Then her entire party spent the next two years making up Russian conspiracy theories about the election in an attempt to save face after losing to Donald Trump.

Has any other presidential candidate in the history of American politics ever behaved this way after a loss? Didn’t such behavior reveal the sheer arrogance of Clinton and the pomposity of the Democrat?

Crazed US Government: As We Face “Armageddon” the Western World Is Leaderless

The moronic warmongers in high office—Bolton, Pompeo, and Pence—and their Israel Lobby masters are determined, and they have not abandoned their campaign for war with Iran. Of course, the liars say that Iran will just accept its punishment for defending its territory and there will be no war. But this is not what Iran says. I believe Iran.

Some of the tiny percentage of people in the Western World who are still capable of thought regret that Trump called off the insane plan. They think the consequences would have been the destruction of the Saudi and Israeli governments—two of the most evil in history—and the cut-off of oil to the US and Europe, with the resulting depression causing the overthrow of the Western warmonger governments. They believe that catastrophic American defeat is the only way peace can be restored to the world.

Trump Has a $259 Million Reason to Bomb Iran

Much analysis of Trump’s slide toward war with Iran has focused on his hawkish national security adviser, John Bolton, who, reportedly requested options from the Pentagon to deploy as many as 120,000 troops to the Middle East and hit Iran with 500 missiles per day. Bolton is the loudest voice inside the White House pushing for a military escalation to the administration’s “maximum pressure” strategy.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, for his part, is staking out the position that the 2001 Authorization for Use of Military Force allows the administration to take military action against Iran without congressional approval, an unusual and broadly criticized interpretation of congressional oversight.

Yet, there’s another omnipresent influence on Trump: $259 million given by some of the GOP’s top supporters to boost his campaign in 2016 and support Republican congressional and senate campaigns in 2016 and 2018.

Trump on Iran Nuclear Deal: ‘I Don’t Care About Europeans’

US President Donald Trump said in an interview that he is interested in direct talks with Iran without preconditions. At the same time, he dismissed the European point of view that Tehran is complying with the 2015 nuclear deal, arguing that it is EU business interests talking.

Trump commented on Washington’s point of view on the 2015 Joint Cooperative Plan of Action (JCPOA) nuclear deal with Iran in a Sunday interview with NBC’s Chuck Todd, saying he would accept any kind of deal with Iran, as long as it prevents Tehran from getting nuclear weapons. Trump suggested that he has no issue with the deal being bilateral or multilateral.

“I don't care which, what kind of a deal. It can be separate or it could be total,” he said.

Trump: If it was up to John Bolton we’d be fighting WHOLE WORLD at once

Donald Trump has confirmed that his top foreign policy adviser wants to embroil the US in multiple international conflicts. But the US president insists he retains final say on whether American missiles are to fly into Iran.

In a sit-down Meet the Press interview broadcast Sunday, host Chuck Todd asked Trump if he was “being pushed into military action against Iran” by his advisers – presumably pointing to the aggressive pronouncements from National Security Advisor John Bolton.

“I have two groups of people. I have doves and I have hawks,” replied Trump. “John Bolton is absolutely a hawk. If it was up to him he'd take on the whole world at one time, okay?”

"Bomb, Bomb, Bomb... Bomb, Bomb" Iran

As a nation, you’re certifiedly (is that a word?!) in deep trouble if and when Donald Trump is your most peaceloving man. But nevertheless, that is America today. It all harks back to the days when Trump was first -grudgingly and painstakingly- recognized as an actual presidential candidate.

He campaigned as a man who would end the costly and neverending decades-old and counting US wars far away from American shores and territory. He hasn’t lived up to those campaign goals at all, far from it, and he hired doofuses like John Bolton and Mike Pompeo to show everyone that he didn’t, but in the early hours of June 21 2019 he apparently decided at the last minute that it just didn’t add up.

Trump’s climbdown on Iran is a defeat to the Israel lobby

Since Donald Trump decided not to attack Iran Thursday, it has been stated again and again that the American people don’t want another war in the Middle East. NPR says so, PBS says so, the Washington Post says the Congress is “war-weary,” the Times notes the considerable support Trump has gotten from Republicans; and even Lindsey Graham has backed Trump’s decision. So do Democratic liberals and centrists and Nancy Pelosi.

Trump himself said a war with Iran is unpopular when he told his Orlando rally Thursday that great nations don’t fight “endless wars,” and he was removing troops and putting “America first.”

The reasonable question here is, Who wants a war with Iran, and why do they want it? The answer is, far-right Republicans like Adam Kinzinger, Tom Cotton, and Liz Cheney who say it’s a sign of weakness not to attack Iran. And the Israel lobby, which wants the U.S. to take on Israel’s regional rival.

Supreme Court Upholds Double Jeopardy Rule That Might Weaken Reach Of Trump’s Pardons

The Supreme Court left undisturbed Monday a legal rule that allows state and federal governments to prosecute individuals for the same conduct despite the Constitution’s ban on double jeopardy.

The case was closely watched because of its possible ramifications for President Donald Trump, given continued speculation that he could pardon confidants facing criminal convictions like Paul Manafort. The pardon power authorizes the president to grant clemency for federal crimes, but does not reach state matters.

The Fifth Amendment’s double jeopardy clause prohibits multiple prosecutions for the same offense. An exception to this rule called the separate sovereigns doctrine allows state and federal governments to bring successive prosecutions for the same crime. Monday’s decision leaves the doctrine in place, meaning any person Trump pardons remains exposed to state prosecutions.

REPORT: Nancy Pelosi Called Trump Last Night Requesting ICE Raids Be Called Off – And He Caved

President Trump said on Monday evening in a pair of tweets that next week ICE will begin the process of removing millions illegal aliens who have illicitly entered the US.

ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) was set to begin raids with court-ordered removals in 10 cities beginning Sunday.

On Saturday Trump walked back his promise and announced he will be delaying the illegal immigration removal process for two weeks at the request of Democrats to see if Congress will work together on a solution to fix the asylum loopholes.

According to reports by CNN and the Associated Press, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) called President Trump on Friday evening and requested he call off the ICE raids…and he listened to her.

Welcome To Crazyland

Surfing the cable channels the evening before my Friday a.m. blog duties, I came upon Sean Hannity at Fox News completely losing his shit in a colloquy with Geraldo Rivera about the Iran drone incident. “Bomb the crap out of them!” Mr. Hannity ranted, several times, the veins in his neck throbbing visibly on the high-def screen. I thought I was having an acid flashback to Doctor Strangelove. Geraldo himself seemed a bit nonplussed and embarrassed by Mr. Hannity’s tantrum, but his attempts to calm down the raving anchorman only ramped up the hysteria. One wondered: are there any adult producers off-screen on that network?

Trump Accused Of 'Rape' One Day After Refusing to Go to War With Iran

President Donald Trump was accused of "rape" by a feminist journo one day after he refused to go to war with Iran.

Despite massive pressure from neocons in his administration to attack Iran after they shot down a US drone over the Gulf of Oman, Trump elected not to carry out a strike Thursday evening because he said the military's planned attack would have killed 150 people, which he said was not "proportionate to shooting down an unmanned drone."

Mainstream Media Faults Trump for Not Following Through on Iran Attack

Mainstream media outlets were of a lot of different minds on the Iran question earlier this week, counseling different approaches for US-Iran tensions. Friday, those outlets were broadly united, upset by the lack of a new war they thought sure was coming.

To be sure, Thursday was meant to be the start of the US-Iran War which hawks have been trying to piece together for generations. Trump ordered the attack, but ultimately, called it off a mere 10 minutes from a strike.

What had been a subject of debate was now USA Today accusing Trump of “not following through.” As concerning as blundering into a huge war in the Middle East had been, the new talking point was Trump showing weakness, and per Kori Schake of the Atlantic, damaging “America’s credibility.”

Trump says he did not give final approval for Iran strikes, no planes were in the air

President Donald Trump said Friday that he hadn’t given final approval to any military strikes against Iran and that no planes were in the air.

In an exclusive interview with NBC’s Chuck Todd for “Meet the Press,” Trump was asked if planes were in the air and he responded, “No, but they would have been pretty soon, and things would have happened to a point where you would not turn back, you could not turn back.”

“Nothing was green lighted until the very end because things change,” Trump said during an interview with Chuck Todd on Friday.

‘We had nobody in the drone’: Trump’s explanation of UAV mechanics baffles observers

Donald Trump backtracked a bit on his hostile rhetoric toward Iran: when he said they "made a big mistake” he more meant they shot down the drone “by mistake.” He then baffled the press saying at least no one was “in the drone.”
While Trump might have simply been emphasizing that no one was actually killed in the Thursday downing of an American surveillance drone near Iran, his word choice left more than a few people in between puzzled expressions and face-palms.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Great that the US is backing off attacking Iran (for the moment) but Trump just handed more grist for the mill grinding out that his mental state has deteriorated.

President Donald Trump has been bragging about early birds itching to attend his campaign rally Tuesday night in Orlando, Florida, but a least one sour note marks the gathering.

RAYTHEON, NORTHROP WILL ‘SOON’ FLY HYPERSONIC CRUISE MISSILE

SOURCE: BREAKINGDEFENSE.COM
PARIS AIR SHOW: Imagine a swarm of up to 30 hypersonic scramjets the size of cruise missiles, launched from air, land and sea. They share data with each other, correcting their flights, perhaps changing targets midcourse. And they can be manufactured relatively quickly and for much less cost than most of the hypersonic vehicles that have been built so far.

If you were China or Russia, would you be uneasy?

“The Raytheon-Northrop Grumman team is quickly developing air-breathing hypersonic weapons to keep our nation ahead of the threat,” Tom Bussing, Raytheon’s VP for advanced missile systems, said in a statement.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Just great; we still have families sleeping in their cars; our infrastructure is crumbling as I input this, and every Foggybottomite is still fully engaged, parsing out "the meaning" of the 2016 election.

The people Americans have "hired", through the election process, are simply a group of individuals, who are owned by the companies which have contributed heavily toward their election success, to insure that these companies can "manage" what happens in this country, to continue to make them profitable.

With a political leadership this collectively asleep at the wheel, it is no wonder why the real problems facing this country go unresolved; but we will have terrific weapons with which to smash other countries, if they dare get "uppity!"

Trump not in control of Iran policy, should perhaps fire Bolton – EU foreign policy chief’s adviser

US President Donald Trump does not appear to be in control of his own administration’s Iran policy and he should fire national security adviser John Bolton, special adviser to EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini told RT.
In an interview with RT’s Sophie Shevarnadze, Nathalie Tocci said Trump has “been led into a very different direction” than the one he might otherwise have gone in without input from Bolton.

Asked why she didn't trust Trump's claims that he does not want regime change in Iran, Tocci said Bolton clearly has a different position – and he seems to be the one writing the administration’s policy on Tehran.

Unfortunately at the moment it seems to me that the US’s Iran policy has a very clear author and that author is not the president of the United States.

Pence Goes to War: America Will be Fighting Forever

Four tankers off the Emirati coast were damaged last month by what investigators concluded were explosives attached to the ships' hulls. The Trump administration immediately pointed to Iran or Iranian-directed proxies as the perpetrators of the attacks. Yesterday, two more ships were attacked near the Strait of Hormuz. And for the second time, Trump administration officials blamed Tehran for the incident, citing a grainy, black-and-white video of an Iranian vessel purportedly approaching one of the ships to remove an unexploded mine hours after the attack happened.

While the circumstances remain murky, we should not be surprised if investigators prove that Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps conducted or ordered these strikes. Why? Because U.S. economic sanctions against Iran are crushing an already cash-poor economy, and retaliation was inevitable. If the Trump administration continues its policy toward Iran, we could very well find ourselves in a war nobody wants.

Dear President Trump: If you do not end censorship by Big Tech, you will lose the election and thrust America into a violent civil war

Pay attention to the fact that the intolerant, bigoted Left in America today has zero respect for freedom of speech or the rule of law. Over the last two years, they have been systematically silencing all conservative, Christian and pro-Trump voices in order to deliberately suppress their speech. Now, left-wing tech giants are even silencing whistleblowers like James O’Keefe (Project Veritas), setting a new precedent that says all whistleblowers who make Leftists look bad will be censored and de-platformed.

President Trump, meanwhile, somehow seems to believe he doesn’t need the voices of his supporters anymore. He thinks he can win the election even while his advocates are unfairly silenced by the left-wing bullies of the tech industry who now act like full-blown fascists.

Trump Campaign Fires Pollsters After Internal Numbers Leaked

President Trump’s re-election campaign is letting go of some of its own pollsters after leaked internal polling showed the president behind Joe Biden in critical states, NBC News reports. Parts of the president’s expansive March polling was made public in recent days. The polls reportedly showed the president trailing across 2020 swing states, as well as in reliably red states that haven’t been competitive for decades in national elections. In states where Trump edged Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton by narrow margins in 2016—such as Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Florida, and Michigan—Trump trails Biden by double-digits. Trump is also behind the former vice president by 7 percentage points in Iowa, but is holding a small lead in Texas. A person close to the Trump re-election team told NBC News that the campaign was would no longer be working with certain pollsters in response to the leaks.

Buttigieg says Trump using Justice Department as 'his own personal law firm'

Pete Buttigieg, a 2020 Democratic presidential candidate, on Sunday slammed President Trump’s recent move directing Attorney General William Barr to look into the origins of the Russia investigation and if U.S. officials improperly surveilled Trump's 2016 campaign.

Buttigieg, whose surprise move from the mayor of South Bend, Ind., to Democratic contender has been a major focus of the early campaign season, lambasted the president for using the Department of Justice as “his own personal law firm.”

“The independence of the DOJ is obviously not something this president respects,” Buttigieg said during an interview on NBC’s “Meet The Press.” “He’s treated it like it ought to be his own personal law firm.”

Trump Warns of Unprecedented Stock Market Crash if He Doesn’t Win in 2020

President Trump on Saturday predicted a stock market crash “the likes of which has not been seen before” if he doesn’t win re-election in 2020. “The Trump Economy is setting records, and has a long way up to go,” Trump wrote on Twitter. “However, if anyone but me takes over in 2020 (I know the competition very well), there will be a Market Crash the likes of which has not been seen before! KEEP AMERICA GREAT.”

The truth...isn’t out there? Trump had meeting on UFOs but ‘doesn’t believe’ in them

In a new twist that will either douse a million conspiracy theories or ignite twice as many new ones, President Donald Trump has said he’s met with officials about UFOs, but also that he doesn’t “particularly” believe in them.

Speaking to ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, Trump revealed that he has been briefed by the military on UFO sightings.

I’ve seen, and I’ve read, and I’ve heard. And I did have one very brief meeting on it. But people are saying they’re seeing UFOs. Do I believe it? Not particularly.

Has Trump painted himself into Israel’s corner over war with Iran?

Is America preparing to go to war with Iran? This is the question dominating discussions around dinner tables as well as boardrooms. Confined not only to the Middle East, where heightened concerns about the fall-out for the volatile region’s future forms part of the focus of debates, this is also a major issue around the world. Europe, Central Asia, the Far East and Africa will not be immune from repercussions of such a war if the Trump administration — which is filled with neocon hawks – starts to bomb and then invade Iran.

Could John Bolton soon be SACKED? Will it avert Iran war? Former CIA agent Kiriakou positive on both

Hawkish National Security Advisor John Bolton has steered the Trump administration towards multiple conflicts. However, CIA whistleblower John Kiriakou tells RT he’s learned that Bolton’s days in the White House may be numbered.

Since joining the Trump administration in April of last year, Bolton has taken the hardest line possible on every geopolitical flare-up. From advocating “humanitarian intervention” in Venezuela, to briefing journalists about a plan to deploy 100,000 troops to the Middle East, to rumors of him “sabotaging” Trump’s summit with North Korea’s Kim Jong-un last year, Bolton has trumpeted escalation and confrontation as a panacea to all of America’s foreign policy ills.

Trump’s Betrayal of White America

“Unlike other presidents, I keep my promises,” Trump boasted in a speech delivered on Saturday to the Republican Jewish Congress at a luxury hotel in Las Vegas. Many in the audience wore red yarmulkes emblazoned with his name. In his speech, Trump condemned Democrats for allowing “the terrible scourge of anti-Semitism to take root in their party” and emphasized his loyalty to Israel.

Trump has kept some of his promises. So far, he has kept every promise that he made to the Jewish community. Yet he has reneged on his promises to white America – the promises that got him elected in the first place. It is a betrayal of the highest order: millions of white Americans placed their hopes in Trump and wholeheartedly believed that he would be the one to make America great again. They were willing to endure social ostracism and imperil their livelihoods by supporting him. In return, Trump has turned his back on them and rendered his promises void.

A total of 10 cities are looking to collect $841,219 from the US commander in chief for past event security fees dating back 2016, according to a Thursday report released by the Center for Public Integrity (CPI), a nonprofit investigative journalism organization based in Washington, DC.

US President Donald Trump has denounced critics of his NATO policy, saying while the alliance “was going down” over the last 15 years, it is “like a rocket ship up” now. According to the US commander-in-chief’s interview with Fox News, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg sided with him.

Earlier this week, the Speaker of the House added what we saw as a novel excuse: Pelosi would rather Trump avoid impeachment and instead face prosecution as a private citizen after leaving office.

Abbas: Palestinian people will remain steadfast on their land

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas yesterday laid a wreath at the tomb of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr.

The Wafa news agency reported Abbas saying: “We ask God that Eid would return to us when we liberate our country, establish our independent Palestinian State with East Jerusalem as its capital, and overcome all conspiracies against our cause, including the deal of the century and others. All of the conspiracies will go to hell, and our people will remain steadfast on their land in the face of all these.”

Last month the US announced that it would be rolling out the first stage of it’s Middle East peace plan dubbed the ‘deal of the century’ in an economic forum in Bahrain. The “Peace to Prosperity” conference aims to encourage “investment in the Palestinian territories” ahead of the revelation of further details of the peace plan.

It was always hard to take Jared Kushner seriously.

Responding to an interviewer's question about the capability of Palestinians to self-govern, President Donald Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser questioned their right to self-determination, putting the burden on them to prove they are deserving of freedom, justice, equality and their human rights.

'Baby Trump' blimp is deflated by Tommy Robinson supporter – who is then arrested for possession of a sharp weapon during anti-Trump protests in central London

The 'baby Donald Trump' blimp flying over Parliament Square as part of protests during the U.S. President's visit has been deflated by a Tommy Robinson supporter.

An angry woman livestreamed herself attacking the floating object earlier today before being arrested by police.

Protesters first flew a 20ft likeness of the president over the capital in July last year, with London Mayor Sadiq Khan causing controversy by allowing it to be used.

The woman popped the balloon while shouting 'that's a disgrace'. Anti-Trump protesters were pictured packing up the blimp after the incident.

TRUMP SAYS TARIFFS ON MEXICAN IMPORTS GO INTO EFFECT NEXT WEEK; MEXICO THREATENS RETALIATION

Mexico is exploring ways to retaliate against the United States for taking the trade war south of the border. President Donald Trump isn’t content with the punishment levied on the American consumer just yet, so he announced the 5% tariffs on Mexico will take effect on June 10.

Not only would the tariffs increase the prices of vegetables in the U.S., but some reports say up to 400,000 jobs are at stake as well. Wasn’t Trump’s goal to bring work and prosperity to the U.S.? I guess that means through increased costs of goods and lost jobs. These trade wars have never made economic sense and the U.S. is setting itself up for failure. The 5% tariffs on Mexican goods will especially hit Texas jobs hard, according to a report by CNBC.

Trump harming US national security by giving Saudis ‘anything they want’ like nuclear tech

US President Donald Trump’s closeness with Saudi Arabia is harming American national security, says a top senator, slamming the commander in chief’s seven-time approval of nuclear tech transfer to the kingdom, twice in the wake of Jamal Khashoggi’s murder.

American Senator Tim Kaine made the comments in a statement released Tuesday, Politico reported.

“President Trump’s eagerness to give the Saudis anything they want, over bipartisan congressional objection, harms American national security interests and is one of many steps the administration is taking that is fueling a dangerous escalation of tension in the region,” said the Virginia Democrat.

After receiving a flood of mockery, Midler deleted her original tweet and acknowledged that the quote “turns out to be a fake.”

“Don’t know how I missed it, but it sounds SO much like him that I believed it was true!” she wrote.

Trump 'Prepared' For Responsibility Of Using Nukes

In a wide-ranging interview with Piers Morgan on Good Morning Britain, President Trump said that he's ready to press the nuclear button if and when the time comes.

When asked if he would negotiate with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to avoid war, Trump said "Of course. I've said that and he's said that. I know so much about nuclear weapons and I see the horrible damage done. I don't want that."

Morgan then asked Trump if he would press the nuclear button, to which Trump replied: "I think it’s a terrible responsibility but one I’m prepared to handle," adding "I don’t want to have to think about it, but there may be a time when I do have to think about it."

We are ready to do so, of course, if our US partners are interested in doing so as well … The fact that we are meeting for the second time in the past two weeks inspires certain optimism. Let’s give it a try and see what happens”.

President Putin subsequently hosted Pompeo for a short discussion, noting: “I got the impression that the President [Trump] is in favour of restoring Russia-US ties and contacts – and of resolving issues of mutual interest. For our part, we have said many times, that we would also like to restore relations on a full scale”.

Trump Insults London Mayor as ‘Loser’ as He Pays Tribute to the Queen

Queen Elizabeth II welcomed President Trump to Buckingham Palace on Monday with an honor guard and royal artillery salute, while Mr. Trump carried on an ugly dispute with the mayor of London, whom he called a “stone cold loser” and said was doing a terrible job of running Britain’s capital city.

The juxtaposition of high pageantry and low name-calling, on the first day of Mr. Trump’s state visit to Britain, captured yet again the odd swath that this president cuts on the world stage: impulsive and erratic, delighted by a lavish welcome but preoccupied by petty feuds or events back home.

Trump gets royal treatment in U.K., to leftists' dismay

President Trump received a royal welcome from Queen Elizabeth II on Monday as he began a three-day visit to the United Kingdom, reviewing troops at Buckingham Palace and being feted at a glittering state banquet — aristocratic reprieves from trading insults with London’s mayor, bracing for leftist protests and grappling with the sticky wicket of “Brexit” on Tuesday.

The president strolled at the palace with the queen before Prince Charles escorted him to a double row of guards, who chatted with Mr. Trump as the queen, first lady Melania Trump and Camilla — the Duchess of Cornwall and Charles’ wife — watched from atop a grand staircase.

The first couple and the British royals ducked into the palace under the booming cascade of drums, setting a decorous tone for a long-delayed state visit that included a tour of Westminster Abbey, tea time and a grand dinner at the palace.

Washington’s Mighty Warriors: Draft Dodgers and Scoundrels

Remember Shakespeare’s line “he jests at scars that never felt a wound?” That epithet could have been written with National Security Advisor John Bolton in mind. Bolton was notoriously a draft dodger during the Vietnam War, like his current boss, not due to any scruples regarding what was occurring, but out of concern for his own sorry ass. He is now credibly believed to be the driving force behind the punishment being meted out to Venezuela and, far more dangerously, of the creeping escalation that is taking place in the Middle East that is seeking to draw Iran into a misstep that would lead to war. Bolton, who has received the “Defender of Israel” award, has long been an outspoken advocate for attacking Iran and now he has the power to do just that.

Royals Brace for Trump Visit in Fear He'll Back Brexit at UK Banquet - Report

The UK government last night pleaded with the public to welcome the US president to London, arguing that “the special relationship is generational, not one person”, after calls for the Queen to scrap the royal banquet were sparked.

As the UK prepares for the US president’s state visit, ministers and courtiers at the Royal Palace fear Donald Trump could embarrass the Queen by openly speaking out in favour of Brexit at the official banquet on Monday, the Daily Mail reported citing sources in the palace.

Despite the Royal Family's painstaking attempts to remain above the political affray, those involved in the planning of the visit are anticipating Trump might use his address at Buckingham Palace to heap praise on the UK's decision to quit the EU.

The mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has compared the language used by Donald Trump to rally his supporters to that of “the fascists of the 20th century” in an explosive intervention before the US president’s state visit to London that begins on Monday.

Writing in the Observer, Khan condemned the red-carpet treatment being afforded to Trump who, with his wife Melania, will be a guest of the Queen during his three-day stay, which is expected to provoke massive protests in the capital on Tuesday.

Khan said: “President Donald Trump is just one of the most egregious examples of a growing global threat. The far right is on the rise around the world, threatening our hard-won rights and freedoms and the values that have defined our liberal, democratic societies for more than 70 years.

Trump becomes first Republican president to promote LGBT Pride Month as he touts campaign to decriminalize homosexuality in 71 countries – but Democrats insist he's not gay-friendly enough in the U.S.

Donald Trump ruffled feathers Friday on America's political left by marking Pride Month with a call to support LGBT people who live in the dozens of countries where being gay is a crime.

It was the first time a Republican president has publicly celebrated the month-long focus on gay rights in the U.S. But LGBT activists and Democratic politicians quickly blasted the president as a hypocrite because his administration has sought to limit transgender rights in the U.S. military and opposes other gay rights proposals that his base sees as too progressive.

'As we celebrate LGBT Pride Month and recognize the outstanding contributions LGBT people have made to our great Nation, let us also stand in solidarity with the many LGBT people who live in dozens of countries worldwide that punish, imprison, or even execute individuals on the basis of their sexual orientation,' Trump wrote in a pair of tweets.

How the War Party Broke Trump

From my distant vantage point in New England, tracking the daily fluctuations of the ongoing Iran war scare poses a challenge. It’s that old problem of distinguishing between signals and noise. These days there is noise aplenty emanating from Washington. That the prospect of yet another Gulf war competes for bandwidth with intensifying efforts to impeach President Trump makes it more difficult still to know what exactly is going on.
