"When the people seek a change in the direction of government, and through voting successive changes in administrations, there is no change in the direction, then you know there is a conspiracy." -- Thomas Jefferson

In all honesty, a topic like this really deserves a complete book to cover it all. That said, I can give you the 50,000-foot level view. Then you can choose which of these snake-filled pits you would like to investigate further.

More importantly than the causes of the 2024 SHTF are the steps that you take to prepare for it. While it can tend to feel like we are completely powerless to stop all this chaos, the reality is there is a lot we can do. Much of it is just a lot harder than binge watching Netflix, so we tend to leave it for another day.

Time is running out. The day will come when everything you have done to prepare appears front and center. All your successes and all your failures.

"The Late Show" host Stephen Colbert was outraged by the U.S. Supreme Court's decision, Thursday, to hear former President Trump's immunity argument, further delaying his criminal trial stemming from Jack Smith's 2020 election interference probe.

At one point in the monologue, Colbert joked to the Supreme Court justices: "Be careful how you rule on this one, because Seal Team 6 currently works for Joe Biden."

The high court agreed to review whether Trump has immunity from prosecution in the case, a dispute that will have blockbuster legal and political implications for the nation in this election year. The justices have fast-tracked the appeal, and will hear oral arguments in late April, with a ruling on the merits expected by late June.

Far-left “news” network MSNBC dedicated an entire segment to smearing white voters in rural communities as a “threat to American democracy.”

MSDNC’s “Morning Joe” gave airtime to two leftist authors who explained why white rural Americans are the “most racist” in the country.

Professor of political science at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, Thomas Schaller, and journalist and opinion writer Paul Waldman argued why they believe this “geodemographic” is “anti-democracy.”

Schaller and Waldman are the authors of a book called, “White Rural Rage: The Threat to American Democracy.”

While describing white rural Americans, Schaller said:

“They are the most racist, xenophobic, anti-immigrant, anti-gay, geodemographic group in the country.

The World Economic Forum (WEF) is calling on governments to ban the general public from growing their own food at home by arguing that they are causing “climate change.”

According to so-called “experts” behind a recent WEF study, researchers apparently discovered that the “carbon footprint” of home-grown food is “destroying the planet.”

As a result, the WEF and other globalist climate zealots are now demanding that governments intervene and ban individuals from growing their own food in order to “save the planet” from “global warming.”

On Thursday, Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey (R-MO) announced an explosive new effort to hold Planned Parenthood accountable for several clear violations of law and decorum, including allegedly transporting minors across state lines without the consent of their parents. This comes after several states have taken decisive action to secure the unborn's right to life, as the radical left pushes forth a radical pro-abortion agenda, even up to the point of birth. We, the people, understand that the right to life is something fundamental, over and above the whims of a pro-abortion federal government that fails to value the dignity of its people.

"This is the beginning of the end for Planned Parenthood in the State of Missouri. What they conceal and conspire to do in the dark of night has now been uncovered. I am filing suit to ensure it never happens again," Bailey said in a statement. "As a father who held my daughter in my arms for the single hour of her life before she died, I know firsthand how important it is to protect life. Our children are the future. It is time to eradicate Planned Parenthood once and for all to end this pattern of abhorrent, unethical, and illegal behavior."

The journal Cureus on Monday retracted the first peer-reviewed paper to provide an extensive analysis of COVID-19 mRNA vaccine trial data and post-injection injuries. The authors of the paper also called for a global moratorium on the vaccines.

Dr. Peter McCullough, one of the paper’s authors, called the retraction “a stunning act of scientific censorship.” He told The Defender:

“The journal and its editors had the right to reject the paper at any time during the review process. Once published, it is a violation of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Guidelines to retract a paper without adequate justification.”

The paper, published last month, detailed the vaccines’ potential serious harms to humans, vaccine control and processing issues, the mechanisms behind adverse events, the immunological reasons for vaccine inefficacy and the mortality data from the registrational trials.

The authors concluded:

“Federal agency approval of the COVID-19 mRNA injectable products on a blanket-coverage population-wide basis had no support from an honest assessment of all relevant registrational data and commensurate consideration of risks versus benefits.”

A federal appeals court ruled Friday that some Jan. 6 defendants had their sentences lengthened improperly by judges in Washington, D.C.

This decision could potentially force District Court judges in D.C. to reduce some sentences of some of the rioters during the 2021 riot at the Capitol, according to Politico

The federal appeals court ruled that the judges who lengthened the sentences of the defendants interfered in the “administration of justice.”

This decision was made by a three-judge panel of the D.C. Circuit Court.

Judges Patricia Millett and Cornelia Pillard are Obama appointees while Judge Judith Rogers was appointed by former President Bill Clinton.

New York lawmakers are debating over a proposed Democratic initiative that would pave the way for a multibillion-dollar fund designed to provide unemployment benefits for illegal immigrants. Spearheaded by state Senator Jessica Ramos, a Queens Democrat, the proposal has ignited passionate discussions within the Senate Finance Committee, where it currently awaits further deliberation.

The Center Square reports the proposal would utilize a $500 million trust fund earmarked specifically to offer jobless benefits for individuals who find themselves ineligible for traditional unemployment payments and other public assistance programs. To finance this ambitious endeavor, proponents of the plan are advocating for the imposition of a novel tax targeting tech behemoths like Google and Amazon. This tax, aimed at digital advertising revenue, is projected to generate hundreds of millions of dollars to sustain the fund.

Things are not looking good for Senator Bob Menendez, who is being charged with accepting bribes on behalf of a foreign government and acting as foreign agent.

The prosecution now has a witness pleading guilty to bribing Menendez “in exchange for his influence over foreign affairs.”

Here’s more from the AP:

A New Jersey businessman pleaded guilty Friday to trying to bribe U.S. Sen. Bob Menendez after signing a cooperation deal with prosecutors.

Jose Uribe entered the plea in Manhattan federal court to seven charges, including conspiracy to commit bribery, honest services wire fraud, obstruction of justice and tax evasion. Prosecutors allege that he gave Menendez’s wife a Mercedes-Benz.

According to a plea agreement, Uribe could face up to 95 years in prison, though he can win leniency by cooperating and testifying against the other defendants, which he’s agreed to do.

Russia's strategic nuclear forces are in a state of full readiness, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday.

Russian strategic nuclear forces are purely defensive by nature, aimed at deterring possible full-scale attacks on the nation that might threaten its existence. Russia vows to never use nuclear arms for any other reasons, apart from specified in its strategic documents often called its "nuclear doctrine."

"Strategic nuclear forces are in a state of full readiness for guaranteed use. Everything we planned in the armament sector, which I spoke about in the 2018 address, is done or this work is being completed," Putin said in an annual address to the Federal Assembly.

On November 17, 2020, the lives of former Wayne County, MI Chair of the Board of Canvassers Monica Palmer and her family were forever changed after she refused to certify the Detroit election that was, once again, out of balance. What unfolded next is unimaginable. The hatred by Democrats for anyone who challenges the legitimacy or dares to scrutinize elections they’ve won is unmatched.

As retribution for her decision to refuse to certify the election results, a newly elected Democrat State lawmaker and a prominent Wayne State University official publicly threatened and doxxed Ms. Palmer and her family. The Left wasn’t finished punishing her for daring to demand free and fair elections in the city of Detroit. After she was doxxed by two prominent Democrats, Ms. Palmer began to receive shocking death threats from a 22-year-old woman living in New Hampshire who threatened Monica and her husband and graphic death threats directed at her teenage daughter (see below).

Turkey's initiatives to find a peaceful solution to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine have not succeeded due to lack of support, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said at the opening of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.

"The Ukrainian crisis has moved into its third year. The Istanbul [peace] process was kicked off here in Antalya. At that time, hopes for peace reached a new level. But unfortunately, due to lack of necessary support, our efforts went bust. The historic opportunity to achieve peace, prevent destruction and save tens of thousands of lives was essentially missed, or rather sabotaged," he said.

The president said the crises "in Syria, Yemen, Libya and Ukraine have shown that the current international system completely lacks effectiveness."

During a CNN appearance, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley argued that the Supreme Court should reject Donald Trump's claim of immunity from prosecution for actions taken while he was president.

Mediaite has additional information about Haley's remarks during her exclusive interview with host Dana Bash:

Earlier this week, the Supreme Court decided that it would hear Trump's appeal — the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals recently ruled against him on this matter — in April and rule on it by the end of the term, drawing criticism from pundits on the left who have said that this represented a political gift to the former President. Special Counsel Jack Smith's case against Trump for alleged criminal action taken while he tried to overturn the results of the 2020 election cannot proceed until the question of Trump's immunity is decided.

Former President Donald Trump is challenging 81-year-old President Joe Biden to a cognitive exam. Hours after the president’s doctor said that he was “fit to serve” having conducted his annual physical exam on Wednesday, Trump doubted Biden’s fitness to serve another four years and asked for a cognitive exam.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote, “Crooked Joe Biden must take a Cognitive Test. Maybe that way we would be able to find out why he makes such terrible decisions. I took two of them, and ACED them both (no mistakes!). All Presidents, or people wanting to become President, should mandatorily take this test!”

White House Dr. Kevin O’Connor determined that there were “no new concerns” found during Biden’s physical and claimed that the commander-in-chief is “healthy, active and robust.”

Biden, however, did not take a cognitive test despite concerns over his mental state which grew after Special Counsel Robert Hur’s report on Biden’s handling of classified documents which pointed out lapses in his memory and said that he would come off to a jury as a “well-meaning elderly man with a poor memory.”

A judge on Friday sentenced paramedic Peter Cichuniec who was convicted in the 2019 death of Elijah McClain to five years in the Department of Corrections, which is essentially the minimum sentence for his second-degree assault conviction.

"Minimum, the bare minimum always?" questioned Elijah's mother, Sheneen McClain, after the sentencing. "No. We deserve better, we deserve more."

In December, Cichuniec and Jeremy Cooper were each found guilty of criminally negligent homicide following a weekslong trial in Adams County.

The jury found Cooper not guilty of second-degree assault with intent to cause bodily harm and not guilty of second-degree assault for administering drugs without consent. The jury found Cichuniec guilty of second-degree assault for administering drugs without consent and acquitted him of second-degree assault with intent to cause bodily harm.

Vice President Kamala Harris sparked backlash on social media this week after she tried to praise poll workers for their efforts amid the presidential primaries. However, her appreciation post was built on a lie, and social media users did not waste time pointing it out.

Sharing a photo of her seemingly listening to Vasu Abhiraman on X, Harris wrote, “Our democracy could not function without nonpartisan poll workers like Vasu and Rob whom I met in Georgia. President Biden and I thank you and we support you.”

Her post quickly drew controversy as some users used X’s Community Notes to add additional context to the tweet revealing that Abhiraman is not nonpartisan but is a liberal advocate who pushes the progressive movement.

The man on the left is not a “nonpartisan poll worker.” He is Vasu Abhiraman, an attorney for the left-wing advocacy group Alliance for Justice,” the notice read.

Texas police have said the car crash that killed Mitch McConnell's sister-in-law Angela Chao is under 'criminal investigation' - but refuse to release the 911 call and video evidence.

Chao, who was the CEO of shipping company Foremost Group, died earlier this month after her car entered a body of water on a private ranch in the state

Police have now said that the death of the 50-year-old is under 'criminal investigation', according to CNBC.

In a letter to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, the Blanco County Sheriff's Office said: 'This incident was not a typical accident.

'Although the preliminary investigation indicated this was an unfortunate accident, the Sheriff’s Office is still investigating this accident as a criminal matter until they have sufficient evidence to rule out criminal activity.'

The Biden administration is demanding Fox News retract stories involving allegations of Biden family corruption.

White House spokesman Ian Sams sent a letter to Fox News executives alleging the news network has promoted a "false, discredited" allegation of bribery involving President Joe Biden.

Sams is referring to allegations that Alexander Smirnov brought to the FBI years ago — part of a controversial FD-1023 document — claiming Ukrainian energy company Burisma paid Biden and his son, Hunter Biden, $5 million each in 2015 and/or 2016. Last month, special counsel David Weiss secured an indictment against Smirnov, a former FBI confidential human source, for allegedly lying about those claims.

On the simple basis that Weiss has lodged the allegations against Smirnov, Sams complained that Fox News "has taken no steps to retract, correct, or update its reporting."
