An overwhelming majority of US voters say they are concerned about law enforcement and intelligence agencies interfering in future elections, according to a new Harvard CAPS-Harris poll.

When asked whether they were concerned “about interference by the FBI and intelligence agencies in a future presidential election,” 37 percent of respondents said they were “very concerned,” while 33 percent said they were “somewhat concerned.”

Webmaster addition: Count me in the "very very very concerned" group.

Israeli occupation forces on Tuesday closed the water holes that provide the Palestinian village of Bardala in the northern Jordan Valley with its daily water needs, the official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.

Human rights activist Aref Daraghmeh told WAFA that the occupation forces raided the village and closed the holes, noting that this is the tenth time that the water holes have been closed in two years.

Daraghmeh said that residents in Bardala and other communities in the Jordan Valley suffer from a lack of access to sufficient quantities of water in light of the occupation authorities’ control over most of the water resources in the Jordan Valley through the Israeli Mekorot water company.

Internal Revenue Service Commissioner Daniel Werfel denied retaliating against whistleblowers who recently contacted Congress to allege a cover-up in the Hunter Biden tax fraud investigation.

“I want to state unequivocally that I have not intervened – and will not intervene – in any way that would impact the status of any whistleblower,” Werfel said in a May 17 letter to the House Ways and Means Committee obtained by Fox News

Werfel contends that the purge of the IRS’s Biden investigatory team on May 15 was allegedly done on the orders of the Justice Department, which aligns with what one of the whistleblower’s attorneys told congressional leaders.

Prosecutors overseeing the federal criminal investigation into former President Donald Trump’s handling of classified information have issued a subpoena to obtain information about Trump’s business dealings in seven foreign countries since he took office in 2017.

The New York Times reported that special counsel Jack Smith issued the subpoena to the Trump Organization for its records related to its “licensing and development dealings” in China, France, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and Oman.

The report noted that while the Trump Organization did not do any foreign deals while Trump was in office, the former president did make a deal with a Saudi-based real estate company for a project in Oman just before he announced his third presidential campaign last fall.

A NASA lunar orbiter has spotted the final resting place of a private Japanese moon lander that failed in its touchdown attempt last month.

The Hakuto-R lander, also carrying a small rover for the United Arab Emirates, made its landing attempt on April 25, aiming to set down in Atlas Crater. However, communications with the lander were lost moments before the expected landing. The ispace team behind the lander later confirmed that the lander did not safely touch down on the surface.

Now the site of the apparent crash has been discovered in images taken by the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO).

The increasing disconnection between the frequently-adjusted global surface temperature datasets and the accurate satellite measurement of the troposphere is casting further doubt on the unproven hypothesis that humans cause all or most climate change by burning fossil fuels. IPCC computer models predict a higher warming in the lower and mid-troposphere, but the latest Met Office retrospective adjustments produce 36% faster warming on the surface. “The lack of much tropospheric excess warming over surface warming suggests that changes in greenhouse gases are likely not a significant factor in current warming,” note scientists in a recently published Clintel report.

In Bakhmut/Artyomovsk, all of NATO, all 31 member nations, were defeated by a restaurant owner and a bunch of convicts, is how I saw someone describe it. That of course caricatures the situation somewhat (Wagner is well-organized), but it’s not that far off. And that spells a serious problem for NATO. All of those 31 members may have lots of control over their media, but in the end you can’t endlessly deny being defeated. So what will NATO do now? They will double down, and then again. And at the end of the “doubling down road” lie nuclear weapons.

Speaking to the Financial Times, Jensen Huang, who is preparing for NVDA's earnings call after the close today, said US export controls introduced by the Biden administration to slow Chinese semiconductor manufacturing had left the Silicon Valley group with “our hands tied behind our back” and unable to sell advanced chips in one of the company’s biggest markets. At the same time, he added, out of necessity Chinese companies have no choice but to start building their own chips to rival Nvidia’s market-leading processors for gaming, graphics and artificial intelligence. “If [China] can’t buy from . . . the United States, they’ll just build it themselves,” he said. “So the US has to be careful. China is a very important market for the technology industry.”

Microplastics study suggests recycling is more harmful to humans, animals and planet The recycling of plastic has been found to release enormous amounts of tiny, toxic particles, which could be more harmful to the planet than not recycling By DOMINIC PICKSLEY 23:03, Tue, May 23, 2023 | UPDATED: 00:02, Wed, May 24, 2023 BOOKMARK GMB investigates the impact of microplastics in a roast dinner Recycling plastic could be releasing vast amounts of microplastics that are harmful to humans, animals and the planet, new research has discovered. A study has found that the chopping, shredding and washing of plastic in recycling facilities may turn as much as six to 13% of incoming waste into tiny, toxic particles. Four scientists sampled wastewater from a state-of-the-art recycling plant at an undisclosed location in the UK and were alarmed at the findings. They estimated that the facility could be releasing up to 75 billion plastic particles in each cubic metre of wastewater.

As many as 451 of the church's clergy members and lay religious brothers in six dioceses abused 1,997 children in Illinois between 1950 and 2019, Attorney General Kwame Raoul said on Tuesday as he unveiled the report. The 696-page document accuses Illinois church leaders of being severely slow to acknowledge the extent of the abuse, and of frequently dragging their feet to confront accused clergy. The report claims the church failed to warn parishioners about possible abusers in their midst, sometimes even decades after allegations emerged about a clergy member. However, as Raoul noted, the statute of limitations has expired in many cases and those abusers 'will never see justice in a legal sense.'

Shots puts an amusing spin on the little-known history of eugenics. It traces the genocidal, anti-ethnic eugenics movement which resulted in the sterilization and elimination of millions. It exposes how the wealthiest families financed the evolution of eugenics into Nazi Germany, and pushed America into perpetual wars. These families further influenced the government's elimination of financial liability for vaccine manufacturers while simulating run-ups to the 2020 pandemic. By that year the wealthiest had bought and controlled the media, and censored medical experts that criticized government actions. Shots illuminates how the government censored effective therapeutics, financially incentivized hospitals to adopt misleading reporting practices and deadly treatments, doubled global deaths with lockdowns, bankrupted small businesses, and allowed the most unsafe vaccines in a century.

The resolution, if successful, could result in a $16 million fine imposed on the controversial Democrat from California, which is half the cost of the Russia hoax investigation.

“This will be a privileged motion to censure & a $16 million dollar fine (half the cost of the Russia hoax investigation) meaning I WILL bring this vote to the house floor,” Luna wrote.

The Centre of Policy Studies has called for a 'major overhaul' of the UK's motoring taxation system, with a pay-as-you-drive charge introduced. The think tank's Future of Motoring paper warns that the Treasury faces a '£25billion fiscal black hole' in annual receipts from fuel duty when motorists switch from petrol and diesel cars to battery models. The report recommends a per mile taxation scheme in the UK to initially apply to electric cars before being expanded to cover all vehicles.

Lock her up!

The Manhattan professor who cursed at pro-life students and put a machete to a New York Post reporter’s neck has been fired.

The New York Post reported:

The manic Manhattan college professor who threatened a Post reporter with a machete has been fired, the school said Tuesday — as it emerged she is suing the NYPD for allegedly abusing her during the 2020 George Floyd protests.

Shellyne Rodriguez was sacked by Hunter College just hours after the adjunct professor was caught on camera holding the blade to the veteran reporter’s neck while threatening to “chop” him up outside her Bronx apartment.

“Hunter College strongly condemns the unacceptable actions of Shellyne Rodriguez and has taken immediate action,” school spokesman Vince Dimiceli told The Post.

O’Keefe Media Group on Tuesday released undercover video of Democrat Senator John Fetterman’s special assistant saying his boss is okay with ‘overturning the Second Amendment.’

“Like, he’d [Fetterman] probably, he’d be okay with like, overturning the Second Amendment. Probably. I think he [Fetterman] would much rather prefer, like nobody has guns at all,” Fetterman’s Special Assistant Luke Borwegan said to an undercover journalist with OMG.

Luke Borwegan also claimed he only picks reporters who are puppets and “will say exactly what you f*cking want them to.”

Borwegan said Fetterman’s camp only gives stories about brain damaged Senator John Fetterman to certain reporters who will paint him in a good light.

A few weeks ago, I posted about a horrific car crash on the Rock Creek Parkway in Washington, D.C. in March that killed three immigrants in a Lyft car who were minding their own business when a Lexus going 100 mph hurtled into their side of the road.

The cops have now finally arrested the driver, Nakita Marie Walker, and charged her with second degree murder. No mugshot has been released. Washington, D.C. has had a policy since 1970 of not releasing mugshots due to fear of “prejudice.” From the single photo floating around online harvested from social media, it looks like a Usual Suspect, female version (not some well-connected D.C. insider as I had speculated like, say, the Ukrainian ambassador or a Biden cabinet secretary). But I won’t link to the picture yet because there remains a chance it could be a different, innocent person. [VDARE.com note: The image above is not from social media, but someone’s camera phone shot of NBC Washington’s coverage. The woman in the wheelchair is the accused.]

The US claims that the weapons sent to Ukraine are only used within the borders of the conflict zone, but it is increasingly clear that this equipment is being used by Ukrainian forces to carry out terrorist attacks in the undisputed Russian territory. Photos and videos shared on the internet show that US armored vehicles were used by pro-Kiev forces to attack Belgorod during recent terrorist hostilities. As expected, US officials are denying their involvement and suggesting the images are fake. Now, Washington needs to find a “justification” for the undeniable fact that its proxy regime is inappropriately and illegally using military aid provided by NATO.

The images are being published by Russian war correspondents who covered hostilities in Belgorod. It is possible to find among the equipment captured by the Russian forces several American-made weapons, including some armored vehicles such as M1151A1 Humvees and MaxxPro MRAP. The vehicles were mostly destroyed by Russian artillery or left behind by enemy soldiers as they tried to evade Russian fire.

Reacting to the case, the US authorities argued that there is not enough evidence to confirm the veracity of the photos and videos circulating on the networks. Speaking during a press conference, US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller emphatically expressed his skepticism about the veracity of the images, indicating that they could be some “fake” deliberately spread by the Russians to accuse the Americans. He made it clear that an official statement by Washington will only occur after the images are analyzed and there is absolute confidence on their accuracy.

An ex-con on lifetime parole for raping and killing a child has been charged with sexually assaulting an elderly woman in Queens. Charles Rowe, 56, allegedly committed the sexual assault just months after he avoided punishment for stealing a vehicle.

Rowe has been described as the "poster child for parole violation," with his story highlighting the implications of New York Governor Kathy Hochul's Less Is More Act, which makes it harder to send criminals back to jail for violating their parole.
