An election integrity group said 10.9 million out of a total 22.1 million ballots that had been mailed out to registered voters during the 2022 midterm elections went “unaccounted for,” according to a Jan. 18 report.
“Mail voting practices have an insurmountable information gap,” the Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF) said on Monday. “The public cannot know how many ballots were disregarded, delivered to wrong mailboxes, or even withheld from the proper recipient by someone at the same address.”
The watchdog released the two-page report (pdf) detailing what it called “the failures” of California’s first mass-mail balloting election following the passage of Assembly Bill 37 (AB 37), which requires that ballots automatically be mailed to all active registered voters statewide. The bill, signed into law by Gov. Gavin Newsom in September 2021, makes vote-by-mail ballots, a practice implemented in the 2020 general election in conjunction with the COVID-19 pandemic, permanent for all elections.
California has more registered voters than any other state. Yet its vote-by-mail policies—among the nation’s most expansive—have resulted in large numbers of ballots “disappearing at poll closing time,” PILF’s data show.
“After accounting for polling place votes and rejected ballots in November 2022, there were more than 10 million ballots left outstanding, meaning election officials do not know what happened to them,” reads the Wednesday report.
“It is fair to assume that the bulk of these were ignored or ultimately thrown out by the intended recipients. But, under mass-mail elections, we can only assume what happened,” it continued.
Earth’s inner core has recently stopped spinning, and may now be reversing the direction of its rotation, according to a surprising new study that probed the deepest reaches of our planet with seismic waves from earthquakes.
The mind-boggling results suggest that Earth’s center pauses and reverses direction on a periodic cycle lasting about 60 to 70 years, a discovery that might solve longstanding mysteries about climate and geological phenomena that occur on a similar timeframe, and that affect life on our planet.
Of course, it must be noted this is more or less the plot of the 2003 disaster film The Core, but there’s no need to worry about averting an impending apocalypse by nuking the center of Earth. While the core’s rotation influences Earth’s surface environment, scientists think this periodic spin switch is a normal part of its behavior that does not pose risks for life on our planet.
Jeffrey Zients, who is reportedly slated to become President Joe Biden’s next chief of staff, has a long history of allegedly accumulating wealth via questionable business practices and helping guide federal healthcare policy.
Hours before law enforcement identified an Asian male as the suspected gunman at a Chinese New Year’s celebration Saturday night, multiple public figures speculated that the rampage was motivated by anti-Asian hate, a Daily Caller News Foundation investigation found.
Even at emergency production rates, it will take several years before the U.S. is able to restock supplies of critical munitions sent to Ukraine, according to a recent analysis conducted by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), a Washington, D.C. based think tank.
It seems like just yesterday that the debt-ceiling circus returned to Washington. Actually, it was October 2021, a little over two years ago. That circus was just like all the ones that preceded it. The mainstream press and other acolytes of the welfare-warfare state issued all sorts of dire predictions if the debt ceiling wasn’t raised. As soon as the debt-ceiling was raised, no one advocated cutting government spending to prepare for the next time that the debt ceiling was reached. Everyone knew that as soon as the new debt ceiling was reached, they could do the same thing again.
In other words, for the past two years, it has been business as usual — federal government expenditures exceeding tax revenues by around $1 trillion per year. And everyone knew that within a couple of years, the debt ceiling would be reached again.
Thus, just like clockwork, it’s déjà vu all over again. In fact, the mainstream press doesn’t even have to write new editorials or op-eds. All they have to do is trot out the ones from 2021 (and before) and use them. No one would be the wiser. Why write new ones when the old ones will work just as well?
The White House on Monday accused members of the media of seeking to milk daily revelations about President Joe Biden's possession of classified documents for their own benefit – amid pressure to provide straight answers on camera about the state of the matter.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre faced calls to reveal more details about the documents discovered at Biden's Wilmington home Friday – as she once again referred a series of questions to the Justice Department, despite reporters' efforts to force explanations of how many documents were found and why they were there.
Another White House official, Ian Sams – who has been speaking on behalf of the White House counsel amid the burgeoning special counsel probe – on Monday faced similar demands in an off-camera 'zoom' setting.
A U.S. government report released Monday estimates that there could have been more than $60 billion in unemployment insurance fraud during the pandemic.
The report by the U.S. Government Accountability Office says that figure is an estimate spread over the entire unemployment system and should be “interpreted with caution.”
There has been $4.3 billion of unemployment fraud proven by state workforce agencies and at least $45 billion more in transactions that were flagged as potential fraudulent unemployment claims but not confirmed.
The U.S. Department of Labor stated that about $878 billion in total unemployment benefits were paid from April 2020 through September 2022, the report stated. There was $209 billion in expenditures under the regular unemployment insurance and about $669 billion payouts under the various pandemic unemployment programs, which ended September 6, 2021.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre delivered remarks to the media yesterday that suggested House Republicans, barely two weeks into serving as the majority, will be responsible for higher gas prices in the near future.
Jean-Pierre’s comments reeked of desperation to pivot media coverage away from President Biden’s ongoing classified document scandal. And they were utterly laughable on their face.
“As many of you are tracking, this week, House Republicans will vote to raise gas prices on American families,” she opened her joint press briefing with Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm.
“The contrast in priorities could not be more stark,” Jean-Pierre added. “The President spent the last two years, as you know, doing everything he could to lower gas prices for American families, and prices are down about $1.60 a gallon since last summer.”
“Now, House Republicans are using their narrow majority to force the American people to pay higher gas prices, just as big oil companies are amassing record profits.”
Concerns and controversy are swirling around the decision by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to alter an electrocardiogram test limit for pilots.
A researcher for an aviation advocacy group, US Freedom Flyers (USFF), stumbled upon the EKG change in December, several weeks after the FAA enacted it.
Because the revision was made without a published explanation, USFF turned to a nationally known cardiologist and other experts to assess its importance.
They say the FAA’s change involving “the PR interval” is significant. The PR interval represents the time it takes for an electrical impulse to travel from one part of the heart to another. It is an indicator of heart health.
While the alarming story over at Dr. Paul Alexander's substack newsletter this morning is titled "Yes, the 'BIG KILL OFF' is coming, booked, due to these fraud deadly COVID shots & we drag Bourla & Bancel (Pfizer & Moderna) into courtrooms," it'd be more accurate to say it's ALREADY HERE and as one of the commenters astutely pointed out on that story, not all of these deaths are of the 'died suddenly' variety, with strange cancer's now exploding across the country.
Just as Alan Barton had pointed out in this November 29th ANP story titled "With Cancer's Skyrocketing Since People Were Coerced Into Injecting The mRNA Bio-weapons, The 'Vax Everything Agenda' Is More Than A War Upon Humanity But A War Upon God," these shots have been deadly in more ways than one, just as Dr. Joseph Mercola had pointed out in this story titled "How Cancer Deaths From the COVID Jabs Are Being Hidden" within which he warned.: "The fact that tumor sizes have become dramatically larger since 2021, patients are younger, and recurrence and metastasis are increasing should be front-page news, but you're hearing nothing about it."
Reporting that Analysis of U.S. Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) data suggests the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has been filtering and redesignating cancer deaths as COVID deaths since April 2021 to eliminate the cancer signal, that echoes the warning from this January 15th story by Susan Duclos in which she pointed out medical experts had been ramping up the actual number of COVID deaths in America, deaths with other REAL causes such as 'the jab' itself, or, from cancers caused by the kill shots.
So as Dr. Alexander's reader 'Mike' had pointed out in a comment on that story, he himself knows many people who have recently been diagnosed with bizarre cancers that they've gotten since they'd gotten 'the jab'; we have to wonder, how many more such heartbreaking stories are out there?
A shockingly large wave of layoffs has already begun, and we are being warned that much larger layoffs are coming in the months ahead. That is very chilling to hear, because job cut announcements are already coming in so rapidly that I couldn’t possibly share them all with you. I wrote about some of the major layoffs that are happening just a few days ago, and now I have more to share. We haven’t seen anything like this since 2008, and many of you still have very painful memories of what the “Great Recession” was like. Unfortunately, America is now plunging into another severe economic downturn, and that means that there will be a tremendous amount of pain in the weeks and months to come.
A statute allowing food producers to incorporate cricket powder into flour-based products will go into effect on Tuesday in the European Union.
The decision follows a review launched three years ago by the European Food Safety Authority regarding the use of partially defatted house cricket powder; the agency found that mass market consumption of the material is “safe under the proposed conditions” of use levels.
Cricket powder will now be permitted in a number of food products, such as multigrain bread, crackers, cereal bars, biscuits, beer-like beverages, chocolates, sauces, whey powder, soups, and other items “intended for the general population,” according to the new regulation. Cricket One, a company that asserts that the insects are “nutritionally more efficient” and serve as a more reliable “source of alternative protein” than livestock, submitted the original application.
The regulation also referenced “limited published evidence on food allergy related to insects in general” and connected Acheta domesticus, the species of house cricket in question, to several “anaphylaxis events.” The European Food Safety Authority concluded that “consumption of this novel food may trigger sensitisation” to the insect’s proteins and recommended further study.
Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said during an exhaustive interview with the New York Times that she believes there are “other great candidates” outside of President Joe Biden who could challenge and defeat former President Donald Trump in 2024.
When asked about President Biden, Pelosi spoke highly of him, asserting that he has “done a great job” in office. However, she said it will ultimately be up to him to choose to run again in 2024, which could very well pit him against Trump yet again.
“Is age a positive thing for him? No,” the 82-year-old congresswoman said of 80-year-old Biden, adding that age is “a relative thing.” She also said she believes first lady Jill Biden is “ready” for her husband to run again.
However, surveys show a major lack of enthusiasm for a Biden 2024 bid, particularly among his base. In a recent survey from The Economist/YouGov, 51 percent across the board states that Biden should not seek office again. Perhaps what is worse for the president is the fact that less than half, 46 percent, of Democrats want him to run again, and only 44 percent of those who voted for him in 2020 want him to throw his hat in the ring in 2024.
Webmaster addition: Yep! The Democrats are throwing Joe Biden under the bus!
North Dakota residents had better watch more than their P’s and Q’s. They should watch their language as well in state-funded institutions.
If passed, a state senate bill would fine people $1,500 each time they use pronouns referring to themselves that don’t match the gender they were assigned at birth. The bill could be enforced anywhere that receives state funding, including state agencies and public schools.
The Doomsday Clock was first created by the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists in 1947 to warn humanity of the dangers of nuclear weapons.
Scientists are set to reveal the newest time on the Doomsday Clock tomorrow, which represents their precision as to how close humanity is to an Armageddon scenario. The Doomsday Clock was first created by the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists back in 1947 to warn humanity of the dangers of nuclear weapons. Still used today, experts from the Science and Security Board of the Chicago-based group of experts in the fields of nuclear risk, climate change, disruptive technologies and bioterrorism, make yearly assessments of humanity’s fate. They do so by moving the hands of the Doomsday Clock either closer to, or further away from midnight.
The U.S. health regulator on Monday proposed one dose of the latest updated COVID-19 shot annually for healthy adults, similar to the influenza immunization campaign, as it aims to simplify the country's COVID-vaccine strategy.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration also asked its panel of external advisers to consider the usage of two COVID vaccine shots a year for some young children, older adults and persons with compromised immunity. The regulator proposed the need for routine selection of variants for updating the vaccine, similar to the way strains for flu vaccines are changed annually, in briefing documents ahead of a meeting of its panel on Thursday.
The FDA hopes annual immunization schedules may contribute to less complicated vaccine deployment and fewer vaccine administration errors, leading to improved vaccine coverage rates. The agency's proposal was on expected lines, following its announcement of its intention for the update last month.
